We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
All operations will be carried out in compliance with cGMP's, specific Manufacturing Process Descriptions, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that the quality of our products and services is of the highest level. The Sterile and Packaging Operations Operator | Level 2 (SPO) performs all duties/functions of SPO Operator | Level 1. Under the direction of a supervisor, performs a wide variety of tasks and operations in GMP, aseptic and controlled environments that are required to support and execute production, which includes performing cleaning of equipment and facilities, operating washing and sterilization equipment, operating filling equipment, staging and loading components and bulks, operating inspection equipment, operating nitrogen tunnels for freezing, and completing associated batch record and logbook documentation. Performs cleaning, disinfection, process changeovers and housekeeping requirements as assigned in the areas and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Completing LYO cabinet operations
Operating manual, automatic, and semi-automatic packaging equipment
Performs set-up, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of various equipment
Operates all equipment as specified for SPO Operator | Level 1
All equipment used for cleaning, upkeep, and operation of the manufacturing areas and equipment
Component and equipment washers, dry heat sterilization equipment, computer interfaces, and other tools and equipment associated with component and equipment preparation
Automatic and semi-automatic filling equipment, stoppering equipment and tray loaders, nitrogen freezing tunnels, computer interfaces and communications equipment, and other tools, machinery and material handling equipment associated with sterile formulation, filling and lyophilization
Sealing and capping machines, vacuum glow test equipment, inspection equipment, labeling, and material handling tools and other equipment associated with inspection
Housekeeping and cleaning equipment
Steam Sterilization Equipment | Thaw Baths | Lyophilization Cabinets
Inspection, labeling, packaging and material handling tools and equipment associated with packaging
Safety | Housekeeping | Sanitation
Performs line/process changeover procedures as well as general cleaning(weekly and quarterly) and disinfecting duties in the work areas
Proper cleaning and shipment of material to off-site vendor for refurbishment
Mopping, dusting, polishing, detailing, spraying, wiping and vacuuming areas such as floors, ceilings, walls, machinery, other surfaces, windows, and laminar flow hood curtains
Removal of trash from departmental areas by emptying wastebaskets, transportation of water materials to designated pick-up areas, proper tagging of waste.
Replacements of lights and light covers
Prepares, removes, and properly labels necessary cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment
Completes cleaning related logbooks and documentation
Performs disinfection of items entering the aseptic core, or as required in other areas
High School Diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of SPO Operator | Level 2 Aptitude Test
Experience and Skills
Ability to instruct and train other employees and handle numerous complex details of the job
Remain focused on adhering to procedures and take instruction from management
Mathematical skills to perform in-process calculations | Dexterity
Must pass aseptic gowning test, and aseptic skills test where applicable
Knowledge of Quality Notification process, attends and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen events, or any other operations, Lean Six Sigma, quality safety or environmental training/initiatives as required
Must pass annual sight screening exam where applicable
Ability to independently interact with computer interfaces, troubleshoot machinery and equipment
Special Job Features
Exposure to high and low temperatures
Extensive standing, lifting and bending with some heavy lifting
Use of hearing protection in areas of high noise levels
Some exposure to hot water and steam and chemical substances such as disinfectants, cleaning and neutralization chemicals, PBELC Level 3 and 4 compounds
Must adhere to PPE (i.e. RACAL air-purifying helmet) and gowning requirements at all times
